Our Mission

Lonicera Living was founded in February of 2022. I (Amanda) had previously worked in EMS working my way from volunteer EMT to career Paramedic over an 11 year time span. In January of 2021, while working, I was attacked by a patient that resulted in injuries that required brain surgery . During the time of my injury I was let go from her position as a Paramedic and while struggling with the mental and physical difficulties of my injury, now found that once the injury was healed I wouldn't have a job to go back to. 

During the months following my injury , I was diagnosed with PTSD and had difficulty with major anxiety and depression and went from someone who had a beautiful, clean, organized home to someone that had clutter everywhere and didn't have the mental strength nor the physical ability to keep my home clean which added to my struggle. Thankfully I had a small circle of amazing support that helped me through a very dark period and helped push me to February of 2022, when I was cleared to return to work. When I got home I sat on my couch at home crying because the one job I had loved so much was gone. Mentally I didn't think I was not strong enough to return to that field yet and felt incredibly lost in where I was supposed to go in life. I began cleaning my kitchen and my anxiety decreased and my cleaning spread to other rooms and then I felt that cliché "light bulb" go off in my head and thought, why cant I do this for other people? Why can't I make other peoples homes beautiful for them so when they come home they feel the calmness I feel when I clean or organize? My home became my safe space and my prison during my injury  when before my injury it had been my calm sanctuary away from the chaos of the world. I decided when founding my company, I never wanted anyone to feel like their home was a prison. 

Founding Lonicera Living gave me the ability to make other peoples homes a clean, beautiful and functional space no matter what their reason for calling me is. Balancing life is no small feat and shouldn't be done alone. If I can make part of that weight a little easier for someone to carry my heart is happy. 

I say it all the time, hiring a cleaning/ organizing service is a luxury but having a clean and functional home is a basic necessity and I strive to bring that to all of my customers or social media friends.
